China Resources (Holdings) Co., Ltd. (“China Resources” hereinafter) is a company registered and operated in Hong Kong, with already 72 years of history. Once a very influential foreign trade enterprise in both the Mainland of China and Hong Kong, after reform and opening up, through a series of industrial investment, China Resources has gradually developed into a diversified shareholding enterprise group with industry as its core.

 

At present, China Resources has a total of 15 first-class profit centers and 6 listed companies in Hong Kong: China Resources Enterprises Ltd. (HK291), China Resources Power (HK836), China Resources Land (HK1109), China Resources Microelectronics (HK597), China Resources Gas (HK1193), and China Resources Cement (HK1313). As of the end of 2009, China Resources had total assets HK$ 416.9 billion, business turnover HK$160.7 billion, and employees 300,000. Of which, China Resources Enterprises, China Resources Power, and China Resources Land are constituent stocks of the Hong Kong Hang Seng Index, while China Resources Gas constituent stock of Hang Seng Composite Index.

Business operation of China Resources involves a number of fields, such as power, real estate, consumer goods, medicine, finance, cement, and gas etc. Of which, the business scale of China Resources in retail and beer industry has been the No. 1 in the country; China Resources Power is an independent power generator with the best benefits in the Mainland of China; and China Resources Land is the most powerful comprehensive real estate developer. Its national famous brands include Snow Beer, Yibaoshui, Vanguard, and Vientiane City etc. More than 90% of profits of China Resources are contributed by the domestic market. As of September 2009, the accumulative investment of China Resources in the Mainland approached RMB 400 billion, involving 13 fields, and its business has expanded to all provinces and municipalities across the country except Qinghai Province. 

China Resources actively assumes corporate social responsibilities (CSR) of central enterprises, and carries on charity and pubic welfare undertakings through China Resources Charity Foundation registered in Hong Kong and the Mainland of China, with annual charity donation exceeding hundred of millions and providing 25,000 employment opportunities. Bai Se Hope Small Town of China Resources, completed in Guangxi in 2009, is another beneficial attempt of China Resources to transfer backward rural area and promote rural urbanization construction through industrial support.
